Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:1-Cyclopropyl-6,8-difluoro-1,4-dihydro-7-(3-hydroxypyrro-lidin- 1-yl)-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid o formula I and its salt.
USE: It is used as a remedy for a variety of infectious diseases, because it has strong antibacterial activity. It shows strong proliferation inhibition against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
PREPARATION: The reaction between 6,7,8-trifluoroquinoline carboxylic acid derivative of formula II and 3-hydroxypyrrolidine of formula III is carried out in a solvent such as methanol in the presence of an acid acceptor such as triethylamine at room temperature to 150°C to give a compound of formula I.
