NEW MATERIAL:A urea compound expressed by formula I [X is H, halogen or 1W4C alkyl; Y is O or S; R1 is 1W4C alkyl; A is group expressed by the formula SO3R2 (R2 is H or alkali metal) or group expressed by formula IV (R3 is 1W4C alkyl); n is an integer 1W5; however, (X)n may be the same or different when n is an integer ≥2].
EXAMPLE: Sodium salt of N-(4-chlorophenyl)carbamoyl-N-methyltaurine.
USE: Useful as a herbicide and a medicine having herbicidal and antidepressive actions and antiagglutinating action on blood platelets.
PROCESS: An isocyanate or isothiocyanate expressed by formula II is reacted with an aminoethylphosphonate or aminoethylsulfonic acid expressed by formula III in a solvent, e.g. benzene, at -50W80°C usually for 10minW24hr to give the compound expressed by formula I.
