EXAMPLE: Ethyl-n-butylhexane-1,6-dicarbamate.

USE: A substitute for wax. Useful as a component of a wax-containing material such as water-proofing agent, moisture-proofing agent, electrical insulation material, polishing agent, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. It can be used also as a binder for heat-sensitive recording or thermal transfer process.

PREPARATION: The compound of formula can be produced by reacting diisocyanates (e.g. hexamethylenediisocyanate) with an active hydrogen compound (e.g. methyl alcohol or phenol), in the presence of a catalyst such as triethylamine according to the need, in a solvent such as toluene at room temperatureW200°C.
