PURPOSE: To obtain the superior durability of the captioned nozzle by applying the coating of abrasionproof ceramics at least onto the inner peripheral surface of the min. diameter part of a flow passage formed in a nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: A layer 4 coated with abrasionproof ceramics through chemical evaporation method or physical evaporation method is formed onto the inner peripheral surface of the air flow passage 3 of the nozzle body 2 of a nozzle for sand blasting, and the hardness of the inner peripheral surface is made higher than that of the conventional nozzle. As the abrasionproof ceramics coating-applied onto the inner peripheral surface of the air flow passage of the nozzle body 2, listed are TiC, TiCN, TiN, Al2O3, SiC, or the composite layered substance of the above-described materials, and the hardness reaches a knoop hardness of 2,600W3,500. Therfore, the nozzle posesses the superior abrasionproof faculty than the conventional, and the life can be prolonged 10 times or more.
