Abstract:
To provide a reactor fuel rod capable of increasing the joint strength at a joint between a fuel cladding and an end plug by using a SiC material as a material for the fuel cladding and end plugs, a manufacturing method of the fuel rod, and a fuel assembly with fuel rods bundled.SOLUTION: In a disclosed reactor fuel rod, both ends of a fuel cladding made of SiC material are sealed with end plugs made of SiC material. The end plugs have a trunk that is inserted into the fuel cladding, and heads abutting the end faces of the fuel cladding. On the outer peripheral surface of the trunk and the inner peripheral surface of an area where the trunk is inserted in the fuel cladding, predetermined concave-convex structures that fit together are formed. A gap between the outer peripheral surface and the inner peripheral surface is filled with a brazing material along the direction from the tip of the end plugs to the head, and a partition plate dividing the fuel chamber of the reactor fuel rod and the end plug is joined by the brazing material to the tip.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
