Abstract:

To provide a new class of a boron-containing nucleoside and an oligonucleotide that exhibit a desirable profile of cell selectivity, stability in a living body and ability of easily passing through a cell membrane used for the boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) and the antisense oligonucleotide therapy (AOT).

The oligonucleotide contains at least one uncharged 3', 5'-O, O-[(carboran-1-yl-methyl)phosphonate] internucleotide linkage.
