To make it possible to display a picture and input/output data in a numerical controller (CNC) including a personal computer(PC) without using a CNC display circuit and a switching circuit.
The PC 2 built in the CNC is provided with a function for emulating a display circuit for the CNC. The PC 2 executes processing for converting a display command A sent by emulating the display circuit of the CNC into a video signal B2 and sending the converted video signal B2 to a display means 4. Since emulation executed by the PC 2 is the same as the operation of the CNC display circuit included in a CNC body 1, the display means 4 receives the video signal B2 equivalent to a video signal generated in the display circuit of the CNC body 1 from the PC 2 and can execute picture display similarly to the CNC display circuit. The I/O of data to/from an external I/O equipment is switched to the CNC body 1 or the PC 2 in accordance with a CNC picture or a PC picture displayed on the means 4.
