To provide an OA roller which does not cause any trouble due to a viscosity modifier added to a coating agent and prevents a coating layer formed on a peripheral surface of a metallic roller body from being abraded, deformed, adhered to a belt or the like or peeled off in a short time to maintain a good property over a long term, and to provide an OA roller coating agent which has excellent storage stability as well as suitability for forming the coating layer of the OA roller.

On the peripheral surface of the OA roller body, the OA roller includes the coating layer formed by hardening a sclerogenic binder resin and allowing it to be subjected to a cross-linking reaction after applying the coating agent containing the sclerogenic binder resin, a pigment, an amino resin, and 1-8 pts.mass of attapulgite acting as a viscosity modifier per 100 pts.mass of the binder resin. The coating agent for the OA roller contains the binder resin, pigment, amino resin, and attapulgite.
