Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device which can detect an object from a stereo image with high accuracy and high speed.SOLUTION: An object detection device includes a first camera and a second camera which are arranged so as to generate a parallax in a horizontal direction, a third camera arranged so as to generate a parallax in a vertical direction between the third camera and the first camera or second camera, and an arithmetic processing circuit. The arithmetic processing circuit calculates a horizontal parallax image of two images photographed by the first camera and the second camera, calculates a vertical parallax image of the two images photographed by the first camera or second camera and the third camera, synthesizes the horizontal parallax image and the vertical parallax image for each pixel to create a synthesized parallax image, and detects an object based on the synthetic parallax image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
