To provide an object detection sensor and an automatic door system that reduce the time and effort required for safety control-related settings during installation.SOLUTION: An object detection sensor includes: a sensing section that detects a detection line from an object and outputs a sensing signal; a control section that receives the sensing signal as an input and an order of outputting of a specified detection signal; a sensor output section that receives the order and outputs a specified detection signal; a test signal receiving section that receives a test signal; and a test signal response unit that outputs a test response signal upon receipt of the test signal, and further includes: a learning mode transition input section for initiating a learning mode; a test signal determination section for determining the status of a received test signal in the learning mode; a test signal estimation unit for estimating the characteristics of the test signal from the status of the determined test signal; and a test signal verification section for verifying whether the characteristics of the estimated test signal are contained in the test signal received by the test signal receiving section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
