PURPOSE: To provide an object oriented computer environment operatable in a cooperative processing environment while maintaining the encapsulation and independency of an object.

CONSTITUTION: Object managers in different computer platforms communicate with each other in a cooperative mode, and in the meantime, by using a remote procedure call for holding the object oriented characteristics of the independency and encapsulation of data, the objects on the computer platforms communicate with each other. The respective object managers display whether or not a local object normally responds to a remote message to the other object manager. Thus, by comitting or rolling back a system in response to the completion or failure of a specified task by the object manager, the maintainability of the object oriented system is held. It is possible even in the case that some of the tasks are generated at the outside of a local object oriented computer environment.
