Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of accurately detecting the presence or absence of an occupant on a front-seat passenger's seat or adult or child by a relatively simple constitution.
SOLUTION: A weight sensor 2 for measuring the weight of the front-seat passenger's seat 1 is provided on a supporting part of the front-seat passenger's seat 1 and the output is inputted into a control unit 5. EF sensors 3 and 4 incorporating each of a plurality of antennas are installed on a seating surface and a backrest surface of the front-seat passenger's seat 1 and are inputted into the control unit 5 via a wire harness connected with each antenna terminal. The control unit 5 is provided with comparison circuits 7 to 9 for comparing outputs from the weight sensor 2 and the EF sensors 3 and 4 with a prescribed threshold value and a decision circuit 10 for performing a prescribed logic processing based on the comparison results outputted from the comparison circuits 7 to 9 and outputting an air bag control signal to an air bag control unit 6.
