Abstract:
To provide an occupant protection device capable of enhancing an occupant protection function at collision of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device allows a belt airbag 300 to be deployed prohibiting delivery of a first shoulder belt portion 211a without prohibiting delivery of a second shoulder belt portion 211b for a predetermined time when a distance from a storage position (instrument panel 7) of a main airbag 31 to an occupant P (or a seat 10 the occupant P is seated) is long, thereby, the belt airbag 300 can be inflated to a sufficient size while the occupant P is restrained, and movement of an upper body of the occupant P can be restricted without depending on the main airbag 31, so as to enable protection of the occupant P, especially appropriate protection of a neck by reducing forward and backward movement of a head.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
