A belt-like water absorber 11 which absorbs the excrement, such as urine, is disposed between the front surface part, groin part and back part of a paper diaper body 2. A water absorption part which is the rear end part of an odor generation article 12 which detects urination is connected to the water absorber 11. The front end 12b of the liquid permeable sheet body 12 is elastically supported by an elastic member 7. The liquid permeable sheet body 12 generates the odor (aroma) by the odor generation material which reacts with the moisture of the urine and its component. The wetting degree of the paper diaper body 2 is discriminated by this odor. The water absorber 11 is constituted by packing water absorptive stock 11b, such as a water absorptive polymer, into a liquid permeable film 11a. The odor generation article 12 is constituted by packing an aroma water absorber 12f into a bag composed of a liquid permeable sheet body 12d and a liquid impermeable sheet body 12e.
