PURPOSE: To prevent offset easily and effectively, by pressing a surface subjected to a releasability-enhancing treatment against a stencil printed image immediately after printing to remove a local surplus ink and transfer the surplus ink onto the surface.
CONSTITUTION: A stencil-printed matter, such as a sheet S, just printed is passed through a clamping region 11 between rollers 1 and 5, with the printed image side directed upward. As a result, of an ink constituting the stencil-printed image on the sheet S, a surplus portion not securely held onto the sheet S is removed from the sheet S by being transferred onto the peripheral surface of the roller 1 which surface has been treated for enhancing releasability by use of a substance having a low critical surface tension, such as a silicone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene. The stencil-printed side of the sheet S passed through this device will not show offset any more, even when the next printed matter is superposed thereon. The ink transferred onto the treated peripheral surface of the roller 1 is wiped off by, and transferred onto, a wiping sheet 21 as the roller is rotated. The peripheral surface of the roller 1 passed through a part for contact with the wiping sheet 21 becomes again a clean surface, which is again fed toward the clamping region 11 for making contact with a stencil- printed image.
