PURPOSE: To obtain an offset sheet print inspecting apparatus in which the effective area of defect detection of a print sheet surface can be largely obtained and which can inspect the defect of the printed sheet in line without reducing print colors.
CONSTITUTION: The offset sheet print inspecting apparatus comprises a sheet feeder 2 for feeding a print sheet A, a printing unit 3 for offset printing the sheet, a first dryer 4, and a surface treating cylinder 51 having a circumferential length for bringing two or more print sheets into close contact, wherein a varnish coating unit 5 for varnish coating the sheet conveyed in close contact with the surface of the cylinder, a second dryer 6 and a sheet delivery unit 7 for stacking the printed sheets are directly coupled to form a series of printing line. The unit 5 has an illuminating means 105 opposed to the cylinder 51, and a defect detecting sensor camera for imaging the sheet in close contact with the surface of the cylinder 51 by illuminating by the means 105 are disposed, and a defect detecting means for processing the output signal of the camera to detect the defect of the print sheet is provided.
