To provide an oil application roller capable of uniformly applying oil while controlling the quantity of mold releasing oil to be supplied to a fixing roller by compact and simple structure without causing oil leakage in transportation or storage and improving the utilization factor of the oil.
In the oil application roller 1 forming an oil application layer 3 on the outer periphery of an oil storing member 2 consisting of a hollow cylindrical porous compact and capable of supplying mold releasing oil 6 stored in the member 2 to the fixing roller, the porous compact 2 consists of an inorganic substance having fine diameter voids and pores in its inside, at least a part of the fine diameter voids is communicated with the surface of the compact 2 and the pores, at least a part of the pores is communicated with the surface of the compact 2 through the fine diameter voids and the air-flow resistance of the void is 100 to 6,000 Pa.s/m2.
