Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide uniformity of tightening force in a flange part by bringing a lower side surface of a flange part into direct contact with an upper surface of a crankcase and also an upper side surface of the flange part into contact with a lower surface of a cylinder head through a gasket, in the case of the flange part extended to the outer in a radial direction of a cylinder liner.

CONSTITUTION: A hollow circular tubular cylinder liner 20 is fitted to a cylinder bore part formed in a crankcase 12. In the cylinder liner 20, a flange part 34, extended to the outer in a radial direction, is formed in an end part in a side of a cylinder head 14. Further in an external wall surface except the flange part 34, many circumferential grooves 26 for circulating oil are formed with a space in a direction of cylinder axial line. Here, a lower side surface 34a of the flange part 34 is brought into direct contact with a flat upper surface 42 of the crankcase 12. An upper side surface 34b of the flange part 34 is brought into contact with a lower surface 46 of the cylinder head 14 through a suitable gasket 44. In this way, tightening force of the flange part 34 is uniformly generated.
