To obtain an oil level gauge for automobile exhibiting an excellent tensile strength and flexural strength even when it is used in cold region by composing it of a polyphenylenesulfide or a composition containing polyphenylenesulfide as matrix.
The oil level gauge comprises a substantially columnar base body part 1, a handle part 2 projecting from the upper end side of the base body part 1, and a rod-like gauge 3 suspending from the lower end side all of which are molded integrally with resin. A packing 4 of silicone rubber or the like, is fixed as a seal part to the base body part 1 and an oil gauge part 5 comprising a plurality of linear protrusions is formed at the lower end part of the rod gauge 3. The level gauge is molded of a resin where 100 pts.wt. of polyphenylenesulfide is admixed with 0-80 pts.wt. of fibrous filler, 0-65 pts.wt. of olefin based resin, and 0-5 pts.wt. of organic silane compound.
