Title:
OLEFIN ISOMERIZATION PROCESS USING METALLIC CATALYST IMPREGNATED WITH ORGANIC SULFUR-CONTAINING COMPOUND BEFORE LOADING INTO REACTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0769938
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To selectively isomerize an olefin free of a diolefin by using a presulfurized, activated palladium-base catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: A palladium-base catalyst is treated with a sulfur compd. dissolved in a solvent to incorporate sulfur in an amt. of 0.05-10 wt.% pref. 0.2-1 wt.%, into the catalyst. The resultant presulfurized catalyst is charged into a reactor and activated in a neutral or reducing atmosphere at 20-300°C, pref. 60-210°C, under a pressure of 1-50 bar, pref. 3-20 bar, with a VVH of 50-600 h-1, pref. 100-200 h-1. Then, an olefin almost free of a diolefin is charged into the reactor and isomerized in the presence of hydrogen at 20-200°C, pref. 50-150°C, under a pressure of 1-50 bar, pref. 5-30 bar, with a VVH of 0.5-10 h-1, pref. 1-6 h-1, at an H2/olefin molar ratio of 0.01-1, pref. 0.02-0.2. Thus, an external olefin is isomerized into an internal olefin and/or a more substd. external olefin.
