Abstract:
To obtain an olefin-terpenoid copolymer having a low gel content and to provide a method for producing the same.
The olefin-terpenoid copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing an olefin with a terpenoid containing at least one unsaturated bond and has ≤10 wt% gel content contained in the polymer (the total of the copolymer is 100 wt%). The method for producing the olefin-terpenoid copolymer comprises using a polymerization catalyst obtained by bringing a specific transition metal compound represented by the general formula: LαMXβ into contact with an organoaluminum compound and/or a boron compound and copolymerizing an olefin with a terpenoid containing at least one unsaturated bond.
