PURPOSE: To enhance the sensitivity of an IR receiving part of an IR type remote control for manipulating the operation of an onboard air purifier by covering the periphery of the IR receiving part, the front surface and ceiling side surface of a passenger compartment with a resin material through which IR rays can be transmitted.
CONSTITUTION: IR rays emitted from an emitting part which is attached to a sunvisor and is directed toward the ceiling of a vehicle, and impinging upon the ceiling propagate to a light receiving part 22 in various directions in accordance with the projecting angles of the IR rays. IR rays coming to the receiving part 22 from thereabove are transmitted from the upper surface of a grill cover 23 to the front surface thereof through the wall part thereof, and are sensed by a light receiving part 22. IR rays inclined forward upward are transmitted through the thick wall part and the wall part thereof, and are sensed by the light receiving part 22. Accordingly, even though the passenger sits the center part of a seat, the IR rays come around the passenger so as to sensitively manipulate the air purifier. As a result, even though the light transmitting and receiving parts can be freely arranged in a relatively wide range, the operating manipulation can be made, thereby it is possible to inexpensively install the air purifier.
