Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an epoxy resin, which is sprayable, cures at a temperature higher than the spraying temperature, has an excellent adherence to a substrate, comprising a specific thermosetting epoxy resin system, a sub-thermosetting epoxy catalyst and a particulate filler.
CONSTITUTION: An epoxy resin composition comprises (A) 40 to 70 wt.% of a thermosetting epoxy resin consisting of the reaction product of (I) a liquid bisphenol A epoxy resin, (ii) a solid bisphenol epoxy resin, (iii) a functional acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer, (iv) bisphenol A, (B) 1 to 3 wt.% of a sub- thermosetting epoxy catalyst and (C) 25 to 45 wt.% of a particulate filler compound imparting thixotropic properties to the composition.
