Abstract:

To obtain a new compound which contains a modified hydrazide group, and is useful as a raw material for a polyisocyanate-based resin.

This compound, which contains a modified hydrazide group corresponding to the formula [R is a moiety obtained by removing an isocyanate group from a monomer polyisocyanate, a polyisocyanate addition product or an NCO prepolymer; X is OR' or NHR'; R' is an inert group against isocyanate group upon forming a compound shown by the formula; (n) is 2-6], is obtained, for example, by reacting a polyisocyanate, preferably a monomer polyisocyanate having an average functional value of 1.5-6 with an excess amount of hydrazine to form a compound containing a terminal NH-NH group, followed by reacting with a chloroformate ester (X=OR) or a monoisocyanate (X=NHR). A one- component thermosetting composition is obtained by incorporating a compound shown by the formula, a melamine formaldehyde resin, and so on.
