Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a simple one side welding backing material which can be attached easily on a groove of a cross part of a steel combined of a horizontal member and a vertical member, and which is without leaking of molten metal in the welding time or defects of the bead appearance.
CONSTITUTION: In one side welding backing material composed of a tile like solid material, the tile like solid backing material is formed in an L shape made to an almost right-angled continuous one body so as to be made suitably in contact with both internal and external faces of a cross part of a horizontal member and a vertical member of a steel combined of the horizontal member and the vertical member. Further, the steel is an unequal angle steel having unequal thickness, the outer side of the L shape tile like solid backing material is made almost same to an internal circular-arc radius of the unequal angled steel having unequal thickness, and the internal face of the solid material is made almost right-angled. Further, notches exist on one side or both sides of the internal and external sides of the bent part of L shape tile like backing material.
