An open-close work implement is provided with an abutment part 6 at one of a first half 1 and a second half 2, a movable abutment part 7 relatively coming close to the abutment part 6 and coming into abutment therewith in the other, and a movement-causing part 8 in a middle portion of a base end side part of the first half 1 or the second half 2. The open-close work implement is configured such that the base end side part of the first half 1 or the second half 2 is deformed by the movement-causing part 8 when applying a closing force to an open-close operation part 5 while making an open-close work part 3 clamp an object 4, the movable abutment part 7 is moved to relatively come close to the abutment part 6 by this deformation, and the movable abutment part 7 is brought into abutment with the abutment part 6 by this movement.
