PURPOSE: To obtain the subject yarn, excellent in post processability and hand of products, having general-purpose properties in uses and hardly causing fiber damage under production conditions at high speeds by specifying the form of a fiber bundle wrapped around the yarn axis.
CONSTITUTION: The objective yarn in which the numbers of wrapping fiber bundles (hereinafter referred to as fiber bundles) expressed by (A) to (D) in the fiber bundles turned at a tilt of a tilt angle (β) relatively to the yarn axis of spun yarn satisfy the formula [(B+D)/(A+C)]>1.5 [A is the number of fiber bundles (2a) at 80-100° (β) with strong constraint force per m; B is the number of fiber bundles (2b) at 80-100° (β) with weak constraint force per m; C is the number of fiber bundles (2c) at ≤80° or ≥100° (β) with strong constraint force per m; D is the number of fiber bundles (2d) at ≤80° or ≥100° (β) with weak constraint force per m]. The aforementioned yarn is obtained by feeding, e.g. an opened single fiber group 3 to a rotating spinning chamber 4, forming a fiber bundle, then rolling the resultant fiber bundle with a friction member 6, passing the prepared yarn 16 through a yarn inserting pipe 7 and taking out the resultant yarn.
