To provide an open style magnet useful for MRI.
The open style magnet 10 has two components 12 and 28 which are set apart from each other. Each component 12 and 28 has a shield coil 22 or 38 arranged outside the longitudinal direction of a main coil 20 or 36, a material 24 or 40 to which electric currency is not applied and which can be magnetize and are separated from but near to the main coils 20 and 36 and the shield coils 22 and 38, and a magnetic pole tip 26 or 42 which can be magnetized and is set apart from the materials 24 and 40. In this method, by making the open style magnet 10, while a magnetic field is formed at the first place between two of the 12 and 28, the second place not between the two components 12 and 28 is shuttered from a floating magnetic field.
