Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption in a blower in a thyristor Ward- Leonard system having the cooling blower by changing the operating point of the cooling blower depending on whether a DC machine is in a high speed region or in a low speed region, with a driving motor for the cooling blower as an induction motor wherein the number of poles is changed. CONSTITUTION:The thyristor Ward-Leonard system is cooled by the cooling blower 11. In the case the speed of the DC motor 5 is changed from 100% to less than alpha%, the alpha% speed is previously set in a speed setter 13, and the signal of a speed sensor 6 is compared with said speed in a comparator 14. If the speed of the DC motor 5 is less than alpha% speed, the relay output signal is sent to a control center 16 by driving a relay driver 15, and the operation is performed by changing the induction motor 12, wherein the number of poles is changed and which drives the the cooling blower 11, from the high speed to the low speed.
