Abstract:
To provide an operating device and a brake system that can effectively generate power.SOLUTION: An operating device to operate components including a brake system on a human-powered vehicle includes: an operating unit displaceably disposed to be operated by a user; a power generation unit including a piezoelectric element and configured to convert an input into the operating unit into electric power; a transfer mechanism configured to apply pressure to the piezoelectric element in response to the input into the operating unit; and a sensor configured to detect an amount of displacement in the operating unit based on the amount of power generation in the power generation unit. The transfer mechanism is configured to apply pressure to the piezoelectric element according to the displacement of the operating unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
