Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device for electric wheelchair which is operable even by a passenger handicapped in arm and can improve operability and reduce physical fatigue by mounting a support plate as occasion demands.
SOLUTION: In an operating device 10 for electric wheelchair in which an operation lever 14 for steering and speed regulation of an electric wheelchair is held by a case 13 in such a manner as to be tiltable, a support plate 20 for holding a hand of a passenger is mounted on the case 13 in such a manner as to be attachable and detachable. A passenger handicapped in arm can easily operate the operation lever 14 in the state where the hand is put on the support plate 20 by mounting the support plate 20 on the case 13, and improvement in operability and reduction in physical fatigue of the passenger can be attained. Since the support plate 20 can be removed from the case 13 for a passenger with movable arm, this device can be flexibly conformed to both the passenger with movable arm and a person handicapped in arm.
