Title:
OPERATING MAGNETIC FLUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01234668
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent magnetic fluid for changing passages in branch pipes from reacting with reactive fluid, being oxidized and evaporating, by wrapping the magnetic fluid with a membrane made of soft and breakage-resistant materials.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic fluid 10 is charged in a branch pipe so as to perform valve action is wrapped by a spherical chloroprene membrane 11 which is soft and breakage-resistant. When the magnetic fluid 10 wrapped with the membrane 11 is led into a suitable recess in the branch pipe with the use of a magnet moved along the branch pipe, it is possible to change flow passages. When the fluid is displaced, the movement of the magnetic fluid along the passage may be facilitated since the membrane 11 is soft so that it can change its shape in conformity with the shape of the passage to allow smooth movement. This magnetic fluid 10 is errosion-resistant against the other fluid or the like, having a sufficient gas-tight ability, thereby there is no possibility of other fluid or air-bubbles passing therethrough.
