Title:
OPERATION CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICULAR SAFETY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3019672
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the various kinds of safety means from being excessively operated, and thereby secure safety for the crew by detecting a vehicle speed when a vehicle is found to have been abruptly decelerated, and thereby letting the safety means be selectively operated by a control means in response to the vehicle speed detected.
CONSTITUTION: An acceleration sensor 54 and a vehicle speed sensor 56 are connected to the system ECU 12 of a crew protection system 10, when acceleration in excess of a specified one due to abrupt deceleration is detected, it is judged by the system ECU that a vehicle is in an emergency condition. An operation should be then selected by the ECU 12, which is most suitable out of the various kinds of safety means in response to a vehicle speed detected based on data set in advance. Namely, when the vehicle is running at high speeds, all of an ABS 14, a seat belt means 16, a door control relay 18, an air bag system 20 and an emergency information transmitter 50 are operated, when it is running an average speed, the ABS 14, the seat belt means 16 and the door control relay 18 are operated, and when it is running at low speeds, the ABS 14 and the seat belt means 16 are operated.
