To obtain an inexpensive high function operation controller for capacitor motor being employed for opening/closing an automatic door, shutter, and the like, in which wiring work is saved and the driver is simplified.
An intermediate tap terminal 1c is provided for main and auxiliary windings 1a, 1b, respectively, and the voltage between the intermediate tap terminal 1c and one input power supply terminal of a main power supply is inputted as power supply for an operation control circuit. At the same time, terminal voltages of the intermediate tap terminals 1c provided for the main and auxiliary windings 1a, 1b are compared in order to determine the rotational direction. Since control power supply is obtained from the motor winding, transformer can be reduced and since the detecting section 44 can be reduced by detecting the rotational direction from the motor winding, a small and inexpensive operation controller for capacitor motor can be obtained.
