To improve operability by taking operational characteristics into consideration while allowing a selection of items to be selected by operating a touch panel operation or a hard key.

A touch panel 14 is provided on a screen of a display device 8 of a car navigation system, and a hard key 15 is provided in the vicinity of a shift lever. The hard key 15 comprises a rotation knob 15a. A control circuit displays a list display screen with a plurality of selection items A arranged therein on the screen 8a of the display device 8 in response to user operation of the touch panel 14 or the hard key 15. Selection of the respective selection items A is determined by directly touching the portion in the touch panel 14. Through operation of the hard key 15 (the rotation knob 15a), the plurality of selection items A are selected (displayed in inverted color) one after another, and selection is determined by depressing a controlling element 15b.
