To provide a method allowing a person unaccustomed to a computer to simply restore the operation environment of a client to a state before fault occurrence.
A database composed by primarily relating a network address for identifying each client on a daily operation OS to a MAC address of each client is previously constructed in a recording medium of a server before fault occurrence; the server is made to obtain the MAC address of the client by establishing connection to the server by using a network OS without requiring network address setting in restoring work after the fault occurrence; and the server identifies the network address corresponding to the obtained MAC address by referring to the database and thereafter informs the client of the network address. The client restores the network setting on the daily operation OS by using the annunciated network address.
