To provide an operation mechanism for a split mold in a vertical type tire vulcanizing machine by which the tire vulcanizing machine is compacted in the vertical direction and an operation rod is shortened and precision of the axial center of the upper and lower molds is easily maintained.
In the operation mechanism, a recessed part 15a or a projecting part for engaging a bayonet is provided on the central outside face on the upper part of the upper mold 14 in a split mold. A regulation device 3 for height position of the upper and lower molds or an operation cylinder 8 is arranged and also a projecting part 13a or a recessed part for engaging the bayonet is formed in the tip part of an operation rod 13 connected to the underside rod 9. The split mold 14 is opened and closed by freely detechably engaging the projecting part 13a or the recessed part with the recessed part 15a or the projecting part for engaging the bayonet, which is provided on the outside face of the upper mold 14, through a bayonet mechanism. The bayonet operation mechanism and the operation cylinder 8 are arranged in the inside and the outside of the regulation device 3 for height position of the upper and lower molds.
