Abstract:
An operation assistance device (60) for a cargo handling vehicle (20) comprises a camera (41), an image processing unit (42), a vehicle-side radio (43), stereo cameras (45, 46), a second radio (54), a display controller (55), and a monitor (56). The image processing unit (42) extracts a point group, which is a set of points representing portions of an object, as an object in a coordinate system in a real space. The image processing unit (42) derives a cargo handling space (91) occupied by a load during the cargo handling work by a cargo handling device (24) in the coordinate system in the real space. The image processing unit (42) derives the dimensions (d1 to d4) of clearances (C1 to C4) between the cargo handling space (91) and adjacent objects. The display controller (55) displays, on the monitor (56), symbols (SY, SY1 to SY4), corresponding to the dimensions (d1 to d4) of the clearances (C1 to C4) by overlaying the symbols on a captured image (I) captured by the camera (41).
