To provide a terminal capable of providing many control functions while maintaining easiness of conversation by using a display equipped with a small number of lines and only two function keys.
The operational terminal for a system of a device or a machine, especially an automation system, is equipped with the display to be used in a non-graphic mode, the function keys, and a scroll device. The display 13 uses symbols Sa and Sb on the left side and the right side in relation to a text and defines one or two Boolean control actions. The respective symbols have arrows Fa and Fb, and certain symbols 20a and 20b associated with a Boolean control action. Side keys 16a and 16b related to the respective symbols are used to apply the control action under automatic control, and the action consists either of a held or a single press type in the case of the Boolean control or of a dual type using left and right control.
