Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce power variation of spectral lines by providing an optical waveguide and a single sideband modulator and enabling light circulating inside an optical waveguide to be distributed and modulated. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with an optical waveguide 2 which is closed annularly and a single sideband modulator 3 arranged inside the optical waveguide 2 for preparing comb-like spectrum. Light of optical reference frequency (f0 ) radiated from a reference light source 1 can be injected into the optical waveguide 2, and a part of light which is injected into the optical waveguide 2 and circulates inside the optical waveguide 2 in a specified circulation time (τ) can be projected from the optical waveguide 2. The single sideband modulator 3 shifts light, circulating inside the optical waveguide 2, just by a specified optical frequency shift (f1 ) during for each circulation. Especially, light which circulates inside the optical waveguide 2 is distributed to be modulated. Thereby, power variation in spectral lines 10, 11... of an optical comb-like wave generator with the optical waveguide 2 which is closed annularly can be reduced.
