Abstract:

To provide an optical compensating film having an excellent angle of field compensating function, to attain thinner film of a liquid crystal display and to provide an integrated type angle-of-filed compensation polarization plate of which the re-workability is enhanced and the liquid crystal display using the integrated angle-of-field compensation polarization plate.

Optical compensating film is a cellulose ester film with a film thickness of 10 to 70 μm, when the tearing strength of the film in the longitudinal or latitudinal direction is defined as Hmd, Htd, respectively, Hmd, Htd are within a range of 20 to 400N, satisfy relation of Hmd > Htd and Ro to be defined by the following equation (I) is within a range of 20 to 70nm and Rt to be defined by the following equation (II) is 70 to 400nm. The following equation (I) is indicated by Ro= (nx-ny) x d. The following equation (II) is indicated by Rt= {(nx + ny)/ 2-nz} x d.
