Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable adhesion/fixation and optical coupling between an semiconductor element and an optical fiber for a long period, even if plastics are used as a material for a package case constituting an optical coupling device.
SOLUTION: The device is structured such that, in the middle of a V groove provided in the base board material, a rectangular groove is provided orthogonally crossing the V groove, that an optical fiber is fixedly stuck into the V groove across the rectangular groove with a first adhesive, and that the surface of the optical fiber is stuck with a second adhesive on the side opposite from the installation of the semiconductor element, at a position away from the rectangular groove.
