PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device, to make cost low and to reduce power consumption by receiving reading light radiated from a light emitting diode to an information storage carrier by a CCD line sensor and reproducing recorded digital data.
CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the light emitting diodes (LED) 2L and 2R radiating the light to digital sound tracks for left and right channels. It is also provided with a synchronization detecting circuit, 15 detecting the synchronous data of a film block based on reproducing output from the CCD line sensors 5L and 5R; a CCD driving circuit 14 driving the CCD line sensors 5L and 5R based on detection output from the circuit 15; and an LED driving circuit 16 driving and pulsatively lighting the diodes 2L and 2R in specified timing for a specified time. Then, the diodes 2L and 2R are driven and pulsatively lighted for the specified time and the reading light radiated to the information recording carrier is received by the CCD line sensors 5L and 5R, thereby reproducing the digital data recorded so that it can be optically read.
