PURPOSE: To reduce the failure of copying and improve the operation efficiency by making it possible that a face to be copied of an original is turned up and is copied.

CONSTITUTION: A freely opening and closing cover 6 is provided on an original placing part provided in a copying machine body 1. An original 4a whose face 4a to be copied is turned up and is set in the original placing part 3 is exposed into the cover 6. The first mirror 8 which leads light of a light source 7 for exposure and reflected light from the face 4a to the second mirror 11 is so provided that it can be moved back and forth freely along the face 4a. A mirror 12 which is moved back and forth synchronously with the light source 7 and the mirror 8 and a means which leads the reflected light from the mirror 8 to a photosensitive body provided in the body 1 are provided in the body 1 side. An elastic body 2 is provided on an original placing part 3, and even a thick original 4 can be copied.
