Abstract:

To provide an optical device and a liquid crystal display employing the same.

The optical device has a magnetic material layer magnetized in a first direction. The magnetic material layer reflects an electromagnetic waves which have a magnetic field component being in parallel with the first direction and transmits the electromagnetic waves which have a magnetic field component vertical to the first direction.
