Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which is capable of efficiently generating a second higher harmonic and reduce the cost, and a method of manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION: Dielectric films 3 are disposed in portions on a substrate 1 and waveguides 2 on which light are made is incident along the surface direction of the films and consist of piezoelectric films are disposed on the substrate 1 and the dielectric films 3. The waveguides 2 have the first piezoelectric films 2 of which the axial orientation is made the first direction by the substrate 1 and the second piezoelectric films 2b of which the axial orientation is made the second direction different from the first direction by the dielectric films 3 to as to exist adjacently to each other.
