Abstract:

To provide an optical asynchronous type device for processing optical series sequence of N bit in order to compare the optical series sequence of N bit with target sequence.

This device has a) an input means 64 of the input optical series sequence 1000 of N bit subjected to phase modulation, b) a first optical element 61 for converting the input optical series sequence of N bit subjected to the phase modulation to optically parallel patterns 3000 of N bit subjected to the phase modulation holding the same information as the input optical series sequence of N bit subjected to the phase modulation and c)) a second optical element 62 which is capable of giving rise to a delay of the phase of at least one bit among the optically parallel patterns and in which this phase delay has the preselected value dependent upon the sequence of the prescribed N bit.
