Title:
OPTICAL DISK AUTO-CHANGER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3532731
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the soiling of dust or the like from sticking to the optical system parts of an optical pickup at the time of not using an auto-changer by installing a protecting disk to a disk recording and reproducing part and protecting optical system parts of the objective lens or the like of the optical pickup.
SOLUTION: The protecting disk 3a is held with a turntable 24 and clamper 25 via the central hole of the disk member 14. When reproducing recorded information of the information zone in the disk member 14, the optical pickup 20 is horizontally transferred to the lead-in in the inner peripheral side of the optical disk, and a driving voltage is applied to the spindle motor 23 for rotating the protecting disk 3a. However, since the elastic member 15 provided in the range of the lead-in exists, recorded information is not read, whereby the rotation of the disk is stopped. At this time, the protecting disk 3a is immediately stopped with the frictional force between the elastic member 15 and a pickup case 20a, the opening of the pickup case 20a is closed with the elastic member 15, whereby the objective lens 20b is protected from dust or the like.
