Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive capable of particularizing a write interruption position at a point of time when interruption takes place during data write processing, and to provide a data recording system using the optical disk drive.
SOLUTION: The optical disk drive (4) includes: an access unit (18) for accessing an optical disk (6); and a drive control unit (12) for controlling the access unit to read designated read data from the optical disk (6). Syndrome processing units (24, 26, 52, 54) calculate a PI syndrome of the read data read by the access unit (18) and store it. An interruption position searching unit (56) detects the write interruption position in the read data on the basis of the calculated PI syndrome in response to a received detection instruction. A control unit (16) designates the read data to the drive control units in response to a search instruction and outputs the detection instruction to the interruption position searching unit.
