Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly stabilize the tracking characteristic at the time of transfer from zigzag header parts to grooves and lands without receiving the influence of wobbles by not wobbling the top parts of the recording regions of sector units. SOLUTION: The header parts 51 of the optical disk comprises plural bits 52 and are preformatted with respect to the grooves 53. The header parts 51 are imparted to the sectors at the tops of the respective tracks. The centers of the bits 52 exist in the positions on the same line at the centers of the amplitude of the boundary lines between the grooves 53 and the lands. The header parts for the grooves and the header parts for the lands are formed alternately (zigzag). The several tens bytes in the beginning parts of the grooves 53 following the header parts 51 are phase zero, i.e., wobbleless regions 58a and are thereafter the grooves of the specified wobble quantity.
